A little known fact is that alongside my Aromatherapy I’m also a qualified sports massage therapist.  As you might have guessed, I’m quite fanatical about the human body.

And that’s why I’m a huge fan of a range of treatments to keep my body balanced and in alignment.

One of the treatments that I rave about is the Emmett technique.

I met Judith Johnson, one of the UK’s best known therapists and teachers, at an event over 5 years ago.  What caught my eye was the speed of the results.  Within minutes of seeing her, I was easily touching my toes and it was goodbye tight hamstrings.  I was also finally able to pull my shoulders back as years of hunching (and wearing an incorrect bra) had taken its toll.  However, within 5 minutes I was able to roll and keep my shoulders back….so if your back aches then the Emmett technique is a must. I did a 1 day course with Judith and I’m now able to fix some of my own niggles and pains, especially the IT band (that long muscle running down the side of your leg between the knee and the hip which can play havoc on your knee if you like to exercise).

The Emmett technique is non invasive (you can do it dressed) and it means no elbows in to ‘strip’ the muscle.  As my sporty boyfriend would say, its a total game changer.

The Emmett technique works well along massage.  I still love a deep tissue massage and I can highly recommend my friend Sue Carberry.

Judith runs many workshops around the UK and Ireland and this year she is venturing to Spain for the first time to run a course.  Click HERE for more dates.  I mean, sunshine, Spanish food and learning a great technique = fabulous long weekend!  Just send me an email if you have any questions.

Have a super week
